Measured, Pashmina holds a clear dose of yellow and sits almost exactly on the line between the red and green sides of neutral, so there is no pink and no sage waiting in it to surface later. That is unusual for a taupe this deep, and it is the reason the color stays put when the light changes. Against white trim the contrast is real, close to two steps, so the trim draws a line instead of blending into the wall. Warm oak brings the brown up in it. Best rooms and surfaces for Pashmina

Pashmina is a cabinet color first. It has the depth to carry a kitchen island or a full run of doors without going black, and it sits with white oak, brass and honed stone. On walls it suits rooms you want enclosed, a dining room, a study, a bedroom with two windows, more than it suits a dark hallway, where there is not much light to work with. A small bathroom with one window will feel tight in it, though a windowless powder room is a different case, since there the depth is the point. Above white wainscoting it works better than floor to ceiling in a room with low ceilings.
